Gavroche and Butterfly

Puppies are like kids, they love to explore the world. The idea of this painting, Gavroche and Butterfly, was suggested by one of my old photos, where our Welsh-terrier puppy met a butterfly for the first time.

I had to take a photograph fast (these moments do not last long enough), so I just grabbed my smart phone and was able to catch only a half of the dog and a butterfly. This photo would not work for the painting but I loved the idea of the theme.

So, I decided to catch Gavroche in more interesting position while he was playing with his toys, and it worked. The photos were adjusted for the painting with Irfan View software and GIMP helped meto find the composition I liked.

The resulted painting depicts the mood I was aiming for.
