Happenings in 2016

Comment on this

My dear art collectors,

I did not update you on my art career in 2016, so I decided to do so now, when we are close to the end of this year and are getting ready for the Holiday Season.

The start of the year was good with participation in several group shows and getting two Special Recognition Awards in two different juried international shows.

I worked hard during warm months of spring and summer concentrating on my oil painting technique which helped to improve it and to make some discoveries that helped to understand a lot of things.

I also worked on developing my drawing skills though this is an ongoing process and will last forever.

As a result of all this, I was approached by the International Art Tour Magazine with an offer to be featured in their November issue and to be represented by them at the Spectrum Miami International Juried Art Show.

I was glad to accept this offer and this is happening right now. If you are in Miami, you are welcome to visit booth 615 where the action is.

My best wishes to all of you.

Elvira Kravenkova.

Resting Dancer

Comment on this

It took a lot of emotional energy to finish this painting. A model, a real dancer, was great keeping this pose of confined energy and pride.

I think, she looks like she is still in her dance, though she is resting. Her personality is easy to see.

My winter shows

Comment on this

It is getting cold here in Vancouver and people spend more time inside.

It means time to show my art.

I am currently participating in two shows.

One is "Being Human", members of the Life Drawing Society Show, where my painting "Reason To Smile" was chosen to participate.

Another one, Ten Squared, is the Federation of Canadian Artists Show. My painting "It was not me " was accepted to be a part of this show.

It means four shows this year. Not bad. I plan to keep going!

It Was not Me

Elvira Kravenkova / Comment on this

Here is my new oil painting based on true story (stories, to be honest).

I think, every dog owner is familiar with this situation: you come home to a complete mess and the eyes of your dog are so innocent.

I really enjoyed painting it. Hope to share my joy with you.

Another show for the good start of 2014

Comment on this

Yes!
The "Silent Scream" was accepted to the Federation of Canadian Artists Active Members Show.
It will be on display at The Federation Gallery (1241 Cartwright Street, Granville Island Vancouver, BC) on January 14 - 26, 2014.

Not bad for the beginning of 2014, but I am away again! Every time my painting participates in The Federation Show, I am away.

Do I travel too much?

I shall come back with more sketches and new ideas!

Dear art collectors,

I am happy you are interested in my art. Every painting holds a part of my sole and my emotions that I am glad to share with you.

Even if it is a Still Life, it does not just depict some objects, it tells a short story.

Since the Holiday Season is here, I plan to do some promotional sale.

Some paintings will be offered with discount. Every work will be on sale for several days. I plan to inform you about this discount by e-mail.

You are welcomed to join my e-amil list.

If you know someone else who might be interested in this promotion, please, advise them to subscribe to my e-mails.

Thank you and my best wishes.

Elvira

The story told by the Prophetic Dream

Comment on this

I have got questions about the Prophetic Dream painting meaning.

It is not just a regular still life painting, it has some phylosophy and is based on a real dream and my understanding of life.

The idea behind this painting was that collecting things you may add your own head to someone's collection. Collect memories. Make your world wider, do not live in the corridor stuffed with treasures.

What do you think about it?
