Why I paint what I paint

Hi everybody!

One of my friends recently asked me if I am bored to paint still lives.
I answered him NO and explained why.

Hopefully, this newsletter will explain it a bit more.

I love the beauty of ordinary things. The beauty of an old oil lamp found at the antique store, the fragility of an antique perfume bottle, the glowing colors of a seashell, the beauty of the light hitting a piece of an old wood make me feel excited about the paintings they can be made into.
When I get a box with the objects that I use to paint from life off the shelf, I feel like a little girl who is getting her treasure box out of a secret place. Then I play with my treasures arranging them into something I like and start this magic process of painting. What an enjoyment that is!

My best wishes to everybody

Elvira.
