Good Things Still Happened in 2020
Dear friends and art collectors,
I hope you are fine and in good health despite the unfortunate
situation that we all are in now.
I decided to update you on the happenings in my art career in 2020.
There were some good and interesting things which were happening, even
though in March it looked like everything I planned was cancelled, and
I had a feeling that my life was put on hold.
I had a show of the year planned for May. It was going to happen in
Chicago, where I was supposed to meet a group of great artists. The
title of the show was Creator and Muse. My painting, Living with Love
(the portrait of Gennady Kravenkov), was accepted by the curators, Didi
Menendez and Sergio Gomez, and I was extremely happy and excited.
Everything was booked for the trip, art classes that I was teaching,
were rescheduled, but the show never happened in reality. I am thankful
to the organizers, Didi Menendez and Sergio Gomez, for making it a
virtual Artsy show so fast. And thanks to it, the portrait was rehomed
by a family of art collectors in the US, where it is loved and happy.
It can still be viewed on my Artsy page at 33 Contemporary gallery
www.artsy.net/artist/elvira-kravenkova
Another show, which I really value, happened on Artsy at 33
Contemporary gallery in April. The Razor's Edge was curated by Steven
Alan Bennett and Dr. Elaine Melotti Schmidt. I am thankful to them for
the acceptance of my philosophical painting, Drifting through Life,
that describes the situation, which many of us go through from time to
time and are in now. The painting is still available at 33 Contemporary
on Artsy www.artsy.net/artist/elvira-kravenkova.
The virtual exhibition of my Millennials series at the Women's Art
Museum of Canada was also a success. The paintings can be viewed on my
website www.ekravenkova.com in figurative part of the collection.
Several more shows, where my paintings were accepted, were moved to our
new virtual world, including the Ignite Hope at Port Moody Art Center,
where I was featured.
You may see the list of the exhibitions on my web-site
www.ekravenkova.com in About the Artist - Exhibitions and Awards tab.
All shows had catalogs and publications, they are listed in
Publications and Catalogs subtab on my web site. The one that I am
really proud of is the interview with Didi Menendez published in her
Hashtag Art Magazine.
So, my 2020 was stressful but still brought a lot of good things career
wise. If you would like to tell me about your 2020, I'll be glad to
receive your e-mail. And let's hope, that 2021 will be less stressful
and more successful for all of us.
My best wishes to you and your loved ones.
Elvira.
